Out of respect for Julie Ellefson we here at FeMetal TV have abstained from joining the media frenzy concerning certain inappropriate behavior regarding David Ellefson that went from private to public with the speed of a tsunami last week.

But this….. abstaining from commenting on this is impossible. How many musicians famous or otherwise have we all known that has crossed the street over to infidelity avenue? How many wives and or girlfriends throughout music history have known or looked the other way? How many groupies travel from town to town hoping, praying for an opportunity to walk down infidelity Avenue with the Rock Star of their choosing? Sex, Drugs, and Rock N Roll isn’t that how the saying goes? Almost a rite of passage for a Rock Star. Does that make it right? No, it is not the right thing to do, to break or damage your marriage vows. Breaking your word, a vow, dishonors who you are as a person. In the end we are only as good as our word for that is our honor.

But This? Seriously? Would the music we have all come to love in all genre’s ever have been able to ripen and come to fruition, if every band fired a member that strolled down infidelity avenue? Does this mean that any mistakes or judgement errors we make in our personal life, as human beings, entitle our employers/business partners to fire us? Or in this case attempt to erase us from our own legacy.

Perhaps Mr. Mustaine is settling in quite comfortably to his beautiful new glass house where he sits on the balcony and throws stones.

Perhaps this attempt at righteous indignation is just all smoke and mirrors, a façade not based on genuine moral concerns but simply an opportunity for the path to be cleared.

For there to be only one Dave.

There is a “KISS like” feeling in the air, leaving one to imagine that moving forward Megadeth will be” KISS like” with only Dave being a member, playing with 3 other guys he can treat as hired hands and change out at his whim.

David Ellefson will be quite alright without Megadeth, personally, musically and in business.

Megadeth can never truly be Megadeth without David Ellefson, the loss of his presence will be missed with every note.

New Album Coming this Year via Golden Robot Records

Rock legends KING'S X are thrilled to announce that they are entering the studio to record their highly-anticipated new album - the first to be released in over a decade - scheduled to drop this year via Australia's leading international independent record label, Golden Robot Records. The label announced their global signing of KING'S X in December.

Today, KING'S X enters Blacksound Studio in Pasadena, California with renowned producer Michael Parnin - recognized for his work with a varied range of artists, from Rage Against the Machine and Missy Elliott, to Andrew Lloyd Webber and Barbara Streisand.

Commenting on how it feels to be returning to the studio after 10 years, dUg Pinnick says, "Good question! I haven't thought about it much, been super busy. But got a ton of tunes to submit. I never know what to expect. I'm always surprised when it's done and can see it as a whole picture. And we're making a record after how long?! I've been waiting for this to happen for a very long time, and I'm totally looking forward to it."

Jerry Gaskill adds, "It's been a while since we've made a record together. I go back and forth between excitement and fear. But when it gets right down to it, I think excitement wins. I look forward to sharing all of our ideas together and seeing what comes of it all. If nothing else, it will be the next KING'S X record."

Ty Tabor says, "I'm excited to see where we are at these days. We're all bringing ideas in."

Since the release of their debut record, Out Of The Silent Planet, in 1988, KING'S X released over a dozen albums that have seen them rightfully earn their place on the rock royalty family tree. Fusing progressive metal, funk and soul grooves with vocal arrangements rooted in blues, gospel and even the British Invasion era influences, KING'S X created a style all their own which continues to be an inspiration for bands to this day.

Featuring vocalist and bassist Doug Pinnick, guitarist Ty Tabor and drummer Jerry Gaskill, KING'S X have never changed their line-up, a rarity in the music world and a testament to the band and musicians and friends.

Critically acclaimed from the start, KING'S X are musician's musicians, name-dropped by everyone from Anthrax and Suicidal Tendencies to Iron Maiden and Blue Murder for their instrumental prowess. Pearl Jam's bassist Jeff Ament even declared that "KING'S X invented grunge". They also enjoyed a long life via the David Letterman Show with their track, "We Were Born To Be Loved" (from 1990's Faith Hope Love), also a favorite of the Paul Shaffer's CBS Orchestra to play during commercial breaks.

In 1992, KING'S X signed to Atlantic Records/Megaforce Records, released three albums and toured with bands as diverse as Scorpions, Type O Negative and Pearl Jam. In the early 2000's, KING'S X released three studio albums and their first official live album via Metal Blade Records. In 2005, the band signed to German-based progressive music specialty label, InsideOut Music, and released Ogre Tones, an album described as a return to the bands classic sound. KING'S X forged ahead with new albums, DVD's and tours up until 2012, when drummer Jerry Gaskill suffered a major heart attack. The band then quickly compiled an exclusive live release from their archives entitled, Burning Down Boston. The proceeds of which went directly to assisting Gaskill with his medical expenses. They rolled on for two more years until Jerry suffered another heart attack, which resulted in him having a double bypass operation and ultimately led to the band taking an indefinite hiatus.

This break didn't last long, as they were back on the road in mid-2015, shortly afterward announcing they would begin work on a new studio album. This would be the band's first since 2008's XV. KING'S X began meetings with Golden Robot Records management in Los Angeles in early 2017, eventually signing a global deal in October 2018.

While it's been a decade since KING'S X have released a new record, the wait has definitely been worth it! Watch this space for news on the forthcoming album in the very near future.

"Special" landed among the Top 10 Greatest Gainers on BOTH the Billboard Indicator & Foundations Chart!

Serendipitous is an adjective that describes accidentally being in the right place at the right time, like bumping into a good friend in some unusual location, or finding a hundred dollar bill on the ground. The word could also be used well in describing the inception of the band ZFG. Within its ranks you’ll find seasoned songwriters and performers of which you may be familiar, but sometimes the sum of the parts is beyond expectations and lends itself to being genre defining.

Based in Los Angeles, CA, ZFG consists of Jules Galli on vocals, Trev Lukather on guitar, Sam Porcaro on bass and Josh Devine on drums. The members were close friends in different projects, but decided to get into the studio for fun with a new approach in mind, making music with no rules or boundaries. "Zero Fucks Given" is what they called their first day in the studio, which led to their band name ZFG. After writing and recording together on day one, the chemistry was undeniable, so the decision was made to forge their individual projects into one. By melding anthemic, hook-filled melodies within funk rock guitar riffs and groove rock beats, the band shows their ability to compact a vast array of influence and experience into a signature sound with substance, style, and soul.

As serendipitous as the making of the band may have been, ZFG runs with a different mindset when approaching the music they write by not restricting themselves to purely rock-style songs. ZFG’s music is infused in alternative, pop, R&B and a hybrid of other styles. FATES WARNING guitarist and main composer Jim Matheos comments about the title and the artwork for the "Theories Of Flight" album as follows: "The working title for the album was "The Ghosts Of Home"' and the song with that name was first called "Home Again". When I started searching for artwork I came across the piece that's now the cover and it was called "Theories Of Flight". In fact, the title you see on the cover is part of the original art, not something we added. There's a loose theme running through a lot of the lyrics, and this developed organically and separately, where Ray and I are often writing about various uprooting, escapes....flights. So I was immediately drawn to that phrase as being a better description of what some of the songs are about."

Max Cavalera appears with teenage band Ironkill at Alice Cooper Teen Center

The Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock teen center is described by Alice himself as “A creative sanctuary for teens, allowing them to build confidence and discover their passion through music, dance, self-expression and creativity”. Unfortunately now is a time where public schools are cutting funding for empowering programs like music and dance, The Rock cultivates a love of the arts to inspire teens to embrace artistic excellence and avoid drugs, guns, and gangs. It was through Alice’s Solid Rock Teen Center, when 5 young guys in a band called Ironkill tried out for Christmas pudding contest of 2013 and 2014, that they met their coach and mentor Court Stumpf. Court Stumpf just happens to be the guitarist of the band Co-op headed by Alice’s son Dash Cooper.

Those five young men of Ironkill are; Michael Montana (guitarist age 17), Reilly Mikus (guitarist age 16), Hayden Fiedler (bass age 17), Steven Montana (drums age 14), or Joel Rodriguez (vocals age 16). How could they have known that being involved with The Rock and working with Court would one day lead to them actually playing on stage with the legendary Max Cavlera, their idol? Ironkill was quoted as saying” Court approached us at our weekly practice and told us that Max Cavalera would be playing the opening night of the pudding competition and needed a band. Court felt we were the best choice because of our playing ability and style of metal that we play. He also knew we had been HUGE fans of Max’s for many years! We also know Randy Spencer at the teen center was a big part of arranging this great opportunity for us.” During the evening Ironkill played a total of five songs with Max, ranging from Soulfly to AC/DC to Pantera. Remember you heard it here first; Ironkill kicked some major METAL ass. There was even a mosh pit right in the middle of the center.

Alice himself, broke away from the Motley Crue tour, to be on hand to kick off the evening by further defining the vision he and his wife Sheryl have for their faith based organization citing that their primary mission is to make an everlasting difference in the lives of teens by helping them meet the spiritual, economical, physical, and social needs of at-risk teens (we believe all teens are at risk) in the community by offering a safe, engaging environment during non-school hours a time when they are most vulnerable to drugs, violence, and gangs. Here are just a few staggering facts: 135 children take a gun to school every day in the United States, 1640 children died in 2012 of neglect or abuse, 50% of teens in shelters said their parent told them to go away, and the most shocking statistic of all suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States in teens between 15 and 24 years old.

After playing with Ironkill to a tremendously packed teen center, Max graciously did and question and answer session with Court Stumpf. As I looked around the room I saw the kids listening intensely as Max spoke of what it was like to grow up in Brazil. He told stories of his childhood, and what it was like to work to be an aspiring metal artist in the Brazilian culture and the difference of the music industry in America.
When the question and answer session was over, Max made his way into the audience, he spoke to and took pictures with every single person in the entire building, including me( see below) He did not rush anyone he patiently stood and engaged in conversation with all of the teens, that adore him, perhaps the next generation of the tribe.

In fact by the time Max actually began to make his way out, the chairs were literally being folded up and put away, the stage set was being torn down, the hall was slowly emptying out completely. There is no “Elvis has left the building” when it comes to Max and meeting his fans. He is as loyal and dedicated to ‘The Soulfy Tribe” as they are to him.

HAVOK announces new bassist; North American tour dates

Denver, Colorado thrash maniacs HAVOK have announced the addition of bassist Nick Schendzielos (Job For A Cowboy, Cephalic Carnage) after parting ways with Mike Leon. Leon, who spent two years with HAVOK and appeared on the band's 2013 release
Unnatural Selection, will be joining metal icons SOULFLY on their upcoming North American tour. HAVOK vocalist/guitarist David Sanchez comments on Mike's departure,"Mike is an amazing musician and rock-solid performer! I would like to thank him for lending his talent to the band for two years. I will always love the music he writes and appreciate his abilities."

The newly indoctrinated Schendzielos will record bass on HAVOK's upcoming fourth studio album and take part in the band's upcoming North American headlining tour. The bassist said this about joining the band, "I'm incredibly excited to be working with Havok. Been friends with the dudes forever, always have a blast with 'em, and now I get to thrash with 'em! I have big shoes to fill...Mike is a really, really solid player, but I think my playing style will mix in really well and fans will dig it. The new music is by far the coolest Havok I've ever heard. Can't wait to release it!"

"Nick's skills are documented, go check it out yourselves. He's a guy that's well respected amongst our peers and loved by his friends and band mates. It was an obvious choice to get him for the record and upcoming tour," said lead guitarist Reece Scruggs of his new bandmate.

With work on the new album, their first on Century Media Records, nearing completion, HAVOK is gearing up for a massive North American headlining tour. The month long trek will see HAVOK performing material off the as-of-yet-untitled album so fans will get an early preview of what promises to be the band's most intense effort to date. HAVOK will be joined by a rotating lineup of support acts, which include BLACK BREATH, WITCHAVEN, PSYCHOSOMATIC, BLACK FAST and EXTINCTION A.D. David Sanchez comments, "This tour is full of neck-wreckers and we're proud to have such heavy bands sharing the road with us. Every band on this tour absolutely kills live. As of this new album cycle, SOILWORK is joined by new bassist Markus Wibom, formerly of Helsingborg hardcore group Hearts Alive. Wibom replaces longtime band member Ola Flink, who has amicably left the group to focus on other endeavors. Wibom has been a personal friend of the band for many years and has previously toured with SOILWORK as a guitar tech and lighting designer. Wibom made his live debut withSOILWORK in Stockholm on April 30th.

SOILWORK vocalist Bjorn “Speed” Strid states, “We all sooner or later come to a crossroad in our lives, when our focus of being fueled by the past, is just as strong as our visions of the future and we have to make that incredibly hard decision. Where do I go now? Flink will forever be a symbol for SOILWORKand of all we were and still are about. That being said, we all could sense that he eventually would come to the above mentioned crossroad. He understandably and respectfully chose to step down.

So, where do WE go now? Let me introduce you to one of the finest and most stand up people I know: Markus Wibom. He's been a long-time friend and is an overall multi-instrumental amazing musician. He's been with us before, on past world tours. He's also an amazing character and I couldn't think of a better person to fill Flink's shoes, which indeed are very big… literally (Markus’ shoe size is actually even bigger, if anybody wants to know). Anyway, as much as I will miss Flink, I'm just as excited to tour the world with one of my absolute best friends. Thank you Flink, you will forever rule. Thank you, Markus, for taking this on. After a while he began playing her recordings for us, and we knew after hearing them, that she had a very good voice. Her original music is very good, but quite different than the traditional RODS style, and her voice is powerful with a true "Heavy Metal" edge to it. Soon Garry suggested that maybe she could come and sit in with us to sing a couple of songs. She had already been doing some DIO covers, so we thought that would be a perfect fit. We have a great time playing the DIO songs, and Veronica does an excellent job of singing them. A guest performer is something different for us, but so far it has been great fun, and I think the fans will really love it.

(Drummer / Producer - Carl Canedy) - Veronica Freeman has a truly powerful voice! After a killer warm-up show with her in Auburn, NY, it struck me that it would be a shame to not document this merging of talents with a studio recording. David's song, Smoke on the Horizon, seemed like a perfect fit. We were able to record this song very quickly during Veronica's visit and I think the fans will be surprised and pleased with the outcome. The "V" will also be joining The Rods for their European dates performing a set of Classic Dio and Black Sabbath songs.

(Bassist Garry Bordonaro) - I met Veronica “The V” Freeman through friends, musical connections. During a trip to Phoenix to visit family, I asked her to meet me at a Y&T show. Unfortunately, because of some communication snafus (my fault), she went to the show and I didn’t. The exchanges following that regrettable incident convinced me that she and I had a lot to talk about. On later visits we did meet and spent some time together, and had a lot of good times. We have a real friendship, and have often talked about working together on a project. After hearing early mixes of her new album, it was clear that she deserved exposure to a wider audience. We discussed having her come with us on our European dates, and Carl and Rock agreed to bring her along. We thought it would be fun working with her, and to have a female singer in front of the band, something we have not done before. We decided to play Dio songs because we all know and enjoy playing them, and really didn’t have time to work up her new material. We also put together a quick recording session for a new version of Rock’s song “Smoke On The Horizon” to document this collaboration and get her on the news pages. I think Rods fans and Benedictum fans will have a blast seeing her perform with us, and will really like her new material when it’s released this summer. At least we are going to have a lot of fun doing it!

(Vocalist Veronica Freeman "The V") - After having met Garry in person I knew I had a friend for life! We clicked on a lot of levels. I felt comfortable enough to share some of the solo material with him and was blown away by his reaction.
The series of events that followed have been exciting and rather unbelievable for me. Next thing you know I am meeting the entire band for the first time, doing photo shoots and then bam, in the studio to record “Smoke on the Horizon” then a show and soon we head out for some shows in Europe! It was like a mini whirlwind and I survived it lol.Now we go to Europe and I am beyond excited. The guys are great and things just seem to be falling into place. I love it!
